SCOOTER vs. RAIN, WIND and HEALTH RISKS
Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 @ 9:13 am

It's been raining most every second of the day for too many days. I'm worried that my first two winters in Seattle will eventually reveal themselves as "exceptions to the rule" of the sky's shit spitting.

This is particularly frustrating as I've finally, after three years of over payments, completed the lease on my car. The automobile is now gone, returned to a local dealerand replaced by a black scooter that will be my lo-fi transit from now on. But the rain, and the wind, and my lack of health insurance coverage until Jan 1st, is keeping me off the new bike.

I've had quiet dreams of a new scooter of my own since I was 16 and my friend Cole had “Pedmo”, his red peddle-style moped that we wrecked behind the grocery store trying to jump a big crack in the sidewalk.
