BACHELORING
Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 @ 5:08 pm

On Sunday my wife flew to warm beaches and palm trees, but she did so reluctantly, the visit to Hawaii a work requirement. Tough luck, a free trip to Hawaii, but with two years together itís difficult to do without the otherís breathing at night, the harmless channel flipping after work, the lunchtime phone calls. I was set for a furious week of video games and cigarettes, late night drive-thru and Jackie Chan movies. All of these things, and many hours of work, work, work. Staying up late cathing up on the Inbox and order pile. But Sunday afternoon, I found myself bored and useless after returning from the airport, accomplishing only a long nap and a few hours of Boonville by Robert Mailer Anderson (which Iím enjoying quite a bit at half way through). There has been long hours of video games, but itís somehow not like it was in college. Candy bars taste the same, really, not more sinful and sexy like I imagined they might. I miss my wife. The time difference to Hawaii is difficult to calculate.
